Hoods in the Woods

Recommended Loop:

Angry M/ Ditchpig -> Another Man’s Gold -> Fool’s Gold -> Powerhouse Plunge- Access-> Power Hoods -> Hoods Access -> Hoods Connector -> Hood in the Woods

Difficulty: Blue
Trail Type: Flowy Tech
Features: Rock garden, rock rolls
Weather: Dry
Access: Park at the first car park/ stretch of road leading up to the Diamondhead Trails, and take the the Legacy Climb Trail followed by the Ring Creek Access road all the way up to Angry M/ Ditchpig.

You’ll get a lot of bang for your buck with this trail. You have to travel a fair way to get to it but the descent is long and cruisy and well worth the trek over to this neck of the woods. Plus you’ll discover some really fun trails on the way-starting with really flowy blues and then a short section of more technical trails.

Hoods in the Woods is a trail with plenty of variety to keep you on your toes and sharpen your skills with.

There is one mellow but technical rock slab to watch out for and suss out your line choice. I know I always say this but… go for the line that creates most flow, not the one that looks easier. Speaking from my own mistakes…
